Abstract

Rodhiah, Fitri Isvi Sati. 2017. The Influence of Open-Ended Approach to the Creative Thinking Skill of student in seventh grade of Wahidiyah Junior High School in academic Year 2016/2017. Thesis. Mathematics Faculty of Teacher Training and Education program Wahidiyah University Kediri. The first guider is Mardji, M. Pd. And Second Guider is Toipur, M.pd. The ability of mathematical creative thinking is one of the capabilities is needed by human resources to undertake the development of the Indonesian nation. It  can be manifested through a mathematical education with an open-ended approach. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of open-ended approach to the ability to think creatively mathematically on the seventh grade students of SMP Wahidiyah in academic year 2016/2017 and to find out how much the influence. This research is experimental research with pre experiment research and with one group pre test-post test design. This research was conducted in VII class of Wahidiyah Junior High School by taking one class as sample taken by random sampling technique, that is VII class B of  Wahidiyah Junior High School. The instrument used is a matter of open-ended test with an essay form based on indicators of mathematical creative thinking, namely thinking fluency, flexibility and original. Pre test is finished to determine the initial ability to think creatively mathematically students before being given treatment and post test is finished to determine the ability to think creatively mathematically students after being given treatment. Based on the results of N-gain test calculation of the pre test and post test, the category of students' mathematical creative thinking ability is moderate with a value of 0.6. Then from the results of the test of paired simples t test, students' mathematical creative thinking ability increased by 20.50 with thitung = -10.41 and ttable = -2.026. While from the results of simple linear regression testing, it can be seen that the effect of open-ended approach to the ability of mathematically creative thinking of seventh grade students of Wahidiyah get the value  "+" with equation Ŷ = 66.46 + 0.26X and the big influence is 19.25%.
